Does anyone else have this monitor and can perhaps offer a little advice... I bought it obviously without thoroughly checking specs (although I was sure I had) as it seems it doesn't support quite what I had hoped. I can't get any more than 60Hz at 1280x1024 (or even 1280x960) and it's doing my brain in.

It claims to support "67"Hz at 1280x1024 but this option does not exist anywhere... is that a pretend value that really means 60? Also, I get the option (using the proper drivers) of 70Hz at 1280x960 - when I change it windows tells me I have 70Hz but the monitor OSD (and my eyes) tell me it's actually still 60Hz... it won't change.

In 1024x768 it can change up to 75/85.

Is there any way I can force the refresh rate to change? Even seeing "out of range" would be better than just having the monitor refuse to change! What's going on?

(ATi Radeon 9800AIW SE pro softmod, omega drivers, CTX EX700F with official drivers)

go into the displays part of the advanced display control panel, and disable ddc support for the monitor.

I wouldnt expect much more than 1280x1024@70hz on a 17" ctx though.

i've got the cheap of the cheap ctx, the vl700 and it maxes out at 1280x1024@60hz but that's like eye-bleeding but i think i looked into the ex series and it did about 75hz at 1280x1024.

i suppose u could try editting the *.inf if all else fails

hehe this ctx 1795PF pwns all, 75hz @ 1600*1200 it rocks! 35 quid as well hehe.
Basically I tihnk the options it gives refresh rate wise are what it'll do. Summit like sandra or aida gives a readout of all the supported or good old google hehe.
Power strip *might* give the option but IMO it wouldnt be wise to try and "overclock" the refresh rate. This one claims 77 hz @ 1600 or summit, but only gives 75.....

my philips brilliance 107p does 1600x1200@85, but not the point.

Actually, some monitors do do over their stated res/refresh. Give powerstrip a go after disabling ddc.
