Vandal switches are overused way too often. I think those switch look perfect... gives it the look of a high-end mono amp. Besides it's his mod and he decided it to be that way, and it's not so easy to go back and re-cut that panel for new switches.
First of all: R3SP3CT for the moddingskillz, but most of all for the designing- and machinery knowledge. Q: I tryed to keep up with this topic for a long time, but lost it some weeks ago. I ve tried to search back, but couldn't find what I was looking for: Are you going to use any illumination in your case? If yes, which colour will be dominating? If not red or orange, I would at least change the colour of the buttons at the back. Maybe you could make the illumination in the bottompart of the case responsive to the on or off position of the pumps. The red or orange kind of light these switches have, won't do the credit your case deserves. If you've planned illumination, you should take your time to look for the inserts of the CCFLs. They are just 2,5 mm thick, and can easily dimmed in brightness. I havent seen them a lot, YET... Just an of a NOOB... Also I hope you haven't had time yet to change your MOD-indicator in your sign, otherwise we'll have to wait an awfull long time till this one is totally finished
Holy hell dude! This mod is goddamn amazing! Why do I use so many exclamation points!!? I don't know, Keep up the good work! -CollinstheClown
airflow idea... I have been following this thread for a while and with each post and update I am continuiously impressed with the workmanship and skill. And hoping to be of some usefull critisizim I was looking at the design and noticed that you have cut airflow slots in the top of the ws grate.. I am not sure if ths will be acting as the bottom of the actual hardware enclosure, but if so I was considering the airflow. I threw together a rough drawing of darkblade and propose the following addition to direct airflow to aid in cpu case ventilation.. it is hi-lighted in red.. you can do your own cnc interpritation of such as you wish, but I hope this helps... Cheers!
If you need a hand with anything just give me a shout! I'm sure I have a hacksaw lying around here you can borrow
(My first post in a few months.) Holy $hit! This is by far the most impressing work I've ever seen. You win. (Please create a new forum called art, and move this thread)
I would also have to go with those who suggest to try a different switch. I think the ones you have a now look a little out of place, but overall everything remains top-notch!
I'm guessing that the switches are going to be at the back of the case (who'd have the power cable plugging into the front)...so what does it really matter what they look like?
I can only say this . This is one of the most professional mods I've ever seen, you could even have this case as something which you can sell in the shops, it would surely sell with the attention that will catch. I look forwards to the finished project!
Regarding the switchs he did mention the case will anodised in black, so yes atm the black switches on the silver alu looks odd, but once its black, i think it will look pretty good Nikumba
G69T, indeed you are CNC God... Amazing mod... Keep up the godlike work, and hurry with the nexty update
