I really love this mod, most people would just put water in their reservoirs but this is just something else.

I don't want to sound stupid but is it possbile that somethings are actually TOO cool? This is a kinda modding sensory overload, too much to describe, utterly masterful....

Thanks for the article. I did start following the original mod, but got bored with one post from G69T followed by about 3 pages of "w00t! awesome d00d" style comments. It really has set the bar so high for scratchbuild cases.

I just can't believe it's taken so long for this to get featured.

But then again, it took a long time to build. And I can see why. It's an absolutely marvelous mod!

Well, this was a good way to get the whole "Zomg Where's the modding @ Bit?" cringe to end. While not everybody had fallen in love with G69T's design (much to the same that greats such as ModSquad had dissenters, whether of style or simply impatience), we can all look to it as an excercise in precision, and mastery of the tools at hand.

I think that transforming the project log into a set of articles was a great idea!
I've always thought this is one of the best mods ever, but the project log is very hard to read because it has too many posts (I'm not saying that's not a good thing, but it sure makes it difficult to keep up with the contents).

Congrats to Bit-Tech and G69T for all the hard work!

This was on of the best mods a few years ago. You say 2006 but this was a older mod to my knowledge, i think 2004, But it started out as a different mod then shown here.

Well if i had the abbility to do some cad and the resources (read expensive cnc machines)
i could build amazing things also..

Glad to see this is finally getting published. I know behind the scenes there is over 1,000 images from the worklog so hell of an effort to make it "presentable" - good job.

Dugg so the rest of the Interweb can drool :D

An idea for bit's consideration: for project logs, would it be possible to set up a filter so that the reader could choose to see only the posts from the OP? I'm sure that would cut down the original Dark Blade thread from 100+ pages/2000+ posts into something a little more manageable.

This is something that we have bandied about numerous times amongst the staff. We would LOVE to do it, however it's yet another "hack" applied to the VB forums. Jamie can speak more intelligently on the subject and I'll make sure he catches this, but if I remember properly, the final upshot is that it would be a difficult implementation that can make things semi-unstable and a general pain in the butt.

I've been waiting to set this write up for a long time. I'm glad its finally materialised. It's been said often enough but for a reason: This is easily one of the best, if not THE best mods out there right now.
