Hi guys Iam very close to buying my upgrades, 2500K, 8GB RAM and motherboard. Iam just a little overfaced with motherboard choices and I dont want to pay for features Im not likely to use. The machine will be used for gaming and a little photoshop. I will be running GTX460 in SLI and intend to overclock to around 4.5ghz. This is my choice... http://www.scan.co.uk/products/giga...r3-sata-iii-6gb-s-raid-sata-pcie-20-(x16)-atx Iam open to suggestions maybe from £90 ish up to £140, I just want to make sure Im not missing a motherboard with all the practical features for a lower price, thanks in advance.
Something like this is what i'd go for http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-...sata-raid-pcie-20-(x16)-d-sub-(vga)-dvi-d-atx
You're gonna want to get two x16 PCIe slots to get the most out of your GPU's: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-...6-sli-and-crossfire-x-ready-4xddr3-up-to-32gb There's a Gen.3 version for £8 more: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/msi-...gb-s-raid-sata-pcie-30-(x16)-vga-on-board-atx
I just installed this board: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus...-sata-raid-pcie-30-(x16)-d-sub-dvi-d-hdmi-atx And im over the moon with it, bios is a breeze to use and last night I cheekily tried the automatic OC button and it had me running at 4.4Ghz all on its own.
