Been asked by a friend to look at her Dell inspiron M5030 laptop. The fault was described by her as "It doesn't work"!!

Got it to POST and got 7 beeps which is a processor problem. Replaced it with another and still getting the 7 beeps. I've tried swapping ram round, disconnecting hdd drives, unplugging and plugging things back in etc.

Was thinking, other than being really unlucky and picking up a second dud cpu, does it look like a mobo issue?

    Thanks.

It's more likely to be the Mobo than the CPU. Might be worth trying another power supply though.
