Bought a Dell 2408 24" monitor back at the start 2009, had a very very slight backlight unevenness but not enough for me to worry about. I go away for a few weeks over Easter and come back to a vertical line of dead red subpixels. Went away once the monitor got warm and didn't return for a couple of weeks. Fault came back a week ago, every morning the old monitor would have the line and it felt like it was hanging around for longer every day (but never more than the time it took to make a cup of tea). I phone Dell yesterday afternoon. I speak to them for less than 5 minutes and get the RMA for today sorted. Now it's today, old monitor out, new monitor in. No dead pixels, no backlight unevenness. Theoretically it's a refurb but it's A1 perfect condition. Me = Happy Bunny
Good stuff, it always gives you more confidence in a company when they act like this. Fair play to Dell.
I'm not a big fan of Dell, except for their monitor division. I have one (same as yours) and desperately want two more. Anybody wanna buy a kidney?
