Having a problem with my digital camera.

Has new batteries in, yet when turning on the LCD display the low battery warning is immediately displayed and the camera turns itself off after a picture is taken. This can seeminly be repeated indefinetely as it will immediately turn back on via the power switch.

This behaviour is not exhibited when not using the LCD display.

Any ideas what would be causing this and any potential / possible solutions?

Have you checked to see if one of the batteries is weak? Fully charged they should be reading about 1.5V for alkalines and 1.2v for rechargeables. It might seem like an obvious thing but I've recently had a duff battery causing a similar problem :sigh:
