i've just bought a Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card to replace the onboard C-Media one on my Asus P5AD2 motherboard, however i'm having trouble getting rid of the onboard one i've tried disabling it in the bios and uninstalling the software in control panel, but the software doesn't seem to uninstall - when i restart the pc the C-Media driver is still listed in the installed programs list. then i tried uninstalling it in windows then once it was uninstalled, disabling it in the bios. this also hasn't worked - when i turn the pc on i get a rundll error: "Error loading cmicngf.cpl, the specified module could not be found" has anyone else experienced this problem? when i install the Audigy card it works fine in windows but the pc crashes in World of Warcraft, one crash it even decided that it didn't recognise my raid array anymore! any ideas anyone?
I also use the C-Media with added creative live card and to get mine to work i just disabled the drivers (disabled in the devices menu) and turned it off in the bios.
so you didn't try to uninstall the driver in the add/remove programs box? do you still have the CMI Audio Config icon in control panel?
Thats what i meant to say but managed to make a mess of it. EDIT: W00000T 1000th post. I'd like to thank my mum. My dad. My bank manager and all my loyal fans.
yeah thanks guys, it had worked straight away turns out the errors on startup weren't from the sound card, but from peerguardian
