    Hi All,

Looking for some confirmation from people using ATI 5XXX cards with 120Hz monitors. Simply, do they work together?

I have Win7 and a 5870 and am looking to replace my monitor with a 120Hz model. However from a brief google search it appears a tad hit and miss. I'm mainly a FPS gamer but also work occasionally from home. So would need stable gaming 3D (not the 3D glasses version) graphics and 2D desktop.

    Confused :worried:

It will work, just maybe not at 120Hz. I have ran the viewsonic monitor on a 4870 at 60Hz just fine in the past.

Why do you need 120Hz if you are not planning on running 3D vision?

I really can't see any reason why it wouldn't work at 120Hz with an ATI card - an Nvidia card is only required for 3D Vision. Remember to use a dual-link DVI cable though as a single-link cable won't support a 120Hz signal.

Well the HD3000,HD4000 series have just had the added support of 120hz in CCC 10.5

    HD5000 series support 120hz.
