PlayStation 4 Do I need a 1080P TV to use a PS4?

    hi guys bit confused I was under the impression I needed a 1080p tv to use a ps4 is this bs? the internets saying it'll just be downscaled where the games are 1080P just want to get the white one TESCO have on offer online with destiny. and then when I can afford a 4k do that.
    so can anyone confirm if I buy a ps4 I can use it on my 1080i tv?

    It'll work just fine. It'll detect the maximum resolution, in your case 1080i, and use that. I'd be very, very surprised if it didn't.

    It'll work fine. Probably better to run at 720p though, which'll be the native resolution of your panel. The older "HD Ready" TVs were 720p native, but offered 1080i as a connection choice and internally downscaled.

    Just a heads up, the ps4 only has HDMI out, no composite.
