    Cpu: Intel e6550
    Cooler: Freezer 7 pro
    Mobo: Gigabyte ep35c-ds3r
    Psu: 520w Corsair
Ram: 2x1gb Sticks of OCZ Gold 800mhz 5-5-5-15

Ive currently got a 500 FSB with 7 multiplier giving me 3.5Ghz.
    Ram is clocked to 1Ghz.
    Core voltage is 1.36V
And temps are 34 idle 56 load in prime95
    and it runs stable.

But im still not happy i really want to reach 4GHZ with this chip but so far whats holding me back is it my Ram or my Mobo?

If i up the FSB by 10mhz to 510 it wont even post even with a core voltage of 1.6v so am i correct in assuming that its my Ram thats holding me back?

yeah the ram has hit its wall, what volts you running the ram at? most DDR2 modules really fly at the 2.2-2.3v range. just be careful upping memory voltage as it will die, very quick!

Any advice on what ram i could get to help push it further?
my board supports ddr2 and ddr3

cant that cpu do a higher multiplier than 7?

any ddr3 ram would support a higher fsb than what you currently have and ddr2 8500 would give you a little more room as well but you can buy faster stuff than that as well. .

how are your temps right now? and how about your northbridge and southbridge temps and voltage settings?
How warm is your ram? if its hot to the touch you will need active cooling on it or it wont last very long.

Are you just overclocking for the heck of it or are you trying to get better performance in games/apps?

Tried changing your multiplyer? Try 438 x 8, if thats stable try upping it from there, its quite possible it just doesn't want to raise the FSB above 500.

7 is the max multi with this chip
    and @chrisb2e9

the ram is only mildy warm to the touch temps are 3 4idle 56 full load northbridge is hot to the touch as its overvolted by.3v but i may add a fan to it as its just a heatsink

and its just to see how far i can push it ill be getting a new system so anyway.
