Storage Does sata cable make a difference?

    All SATA cables are the same, the difference is in the hardware.

    Anything is better than the stock yellow Gigabyte things! even UV Green cable braiding can't cover them up lol

    speed is the same, but they look better. So yes, they are better :D

    While we are on that topic, why does gigabyte choose that horrible colour of yellow?

    Because they think people like having yellow cables and multicoloured motherboard connections.

    Above a certain level of quality it makes no difference but I did have a REALLY cheap looking thin SATA cable that gave me all sorts of hassle.

    The ones that clip are generally better than those that just push on. You can also get ones with right angled plugs.

    Only difference is that "SATA II" cables have the metal latching clip.

    Presuming that both SATA I and II cables have the same amount of bandwidth (which the actual interface doesn't, SATA II has twice as much), then there is no difference, apart from shape and colour, between the different SATA cables.

    I have the UV yellow cables from DFI.. under my UV cold Cathode they look awesome.
