Welp, this actually happened to a friend of mine I work with, but the story just popped into my head as i was browsing the forums. Some time ago as my friend Zach is sitting around, having an adult beverage or two, it occurs to him that he needs to work on his notebook. Just for reference, Zack owns a Toughbook, one of the most durable notebooks available. However, it wasn't quite durable enough for when the EXTREMELY inebriated Zack opens up the case and takes a soldering iron to the inside of it to fix some issue he'd been having with the CD drive. Now the entire thing is Kersplat, and he's payin a pretty penny to get it fixed. So just goes to show ya, never mix alcohol and computer repairs. sidenote: alcohol and computer repairs when taken SEPERATELY are extremely enjoyable however
Yeah, he was pretty about it when it first happened, but then he just sent it out for repairs and tipped back a few more, so all is well again
UPDATE: well, this whole ordeal started at least 3-4 months ago, and he still hasn't been able to track down the part he needs to repair it. Shouldn't be hard for him to repair once he gets the part, but in the meantime, he has a 4,000 dollar paperweight.
I love those $4000 paperweights. I know a guy that fried his new mac g5 while drinking. This involved a spill though.
