Whatever, R4 and all its clones are already dirt cheap, they could as well just build it in.

Don't really see the point in the DSi but oh well, we'll have to see.

Well, either they invest a lot of time, effort, and R+D dollars into making yet another proprietary format that delays piracy for a while, or they just use off-the-shelf hardware and rely on software methods. I don't think there's a system out there that hasn't been cracked/modchipped/whatever, so the latter seems to make more sense. SD cards are dirt cheap and will only get cheaper, and having to retool a bunch of equipment and create a bunch of custom chips and readers barely makes sense given the return on investment.

as with all piracy the way to combat it is to produce decent content a good price so people feel its worth purchasing rather than tooo crap to pay for or too expensive so that you feel ripped off.

Honestly, I'm not worried in the least. To pirate a system, devolopers/modders/hackers/etc have to understand the inner workings of the system. Knowing the inner workings is like opening Pandora's Box. Once it's known, everybody knows. Once it's known, however, we get indie studios and coders making homebrew games.

So in a sense, I'm exicted. This means more and better homebrews!
