Oh **** right off EA. We've seen what you've done to the corpse of C&C, microctransactions are the least of everyone's worries.
C&C would be a perfect fit for a Dungeon Keeper style remake...Your barracks will finish building in 9 hours, you can buy an instance build token for only 20 EA coins....You're running short of Tiberium: buy more in the EA store now and get 30% off.
I'd settle for RA2 with improved AI and proper support for Windaz10.
Largely so I can play RA2 on my Surface..
Still can't beat C&C Red Alert: Retaliation. Would love to see an updated version of that one.
Please don't mess this up!
I would love a Dune 2 reboot as well!
While it'd be really nice to have an updated RA1/2, Tiberium Sun and Generals, I think Renegade redone could be the most interesting IMO.
To be honest, I can see EA screwing this up as they did with C&C4, Generals 2 (which got cancelled) then releasing a crappy mobile game which a normal C&C fan does not give a crap about.
If they turn this into CSGO with "bright pink" tanks and avatars then I will lose my ****
no microtransactions but you don't get the mammoth tank unless you preorder, NOD campaign is day 1 DLC and covert operations is a season pass.
Never trust EA, even when it seems they're about to change their scummy ways. They have no idea how to make a great game. Perhaps way before, they used to, nowadays, all they care about is money.
I wonder what all the westwood studio guys are going now.. They were pure class...
They formed Petroglyph Games, and produced Grey Goo, which was received to a resounding "eh, it's OK I guess".
They have also done the 8-bit army games as I understand
Or maybe this will be the rare exception... look at what Activision did last year with Crash Bandicoot (remaster / remake of three games, sold as one and not only did it lack all of the usual Activision BS, but is also actually fun to play).
Don't get me wrong, I won't give EA a penny for a C&C remaster / remake until I've seen multiple reviews, but if Activision can publish a fun game in between copy pasting loot boxes from one CoD to the next then maybe EA can too.
Hopefully, it will. We've all had enough of their greedy BS business practices.
Yeah, the AI was only good for an initial rush and provided you survived that you were good.
My favourite online tactic was walking my base with soviet ore refineries. Base extended and the soviet ore trucks make excellent cannon fodder to distract from more formidable things
In an unexpected turn of events, it appears the studio tapped for the remaster is Petroglyph.
