Let's be clear, I buy a 3d fps for graphics, sound and gameplay. I want movie quality visuals and whether you like it or not, that is what nvidia and Amd are ultimately aiming for. If you have some silly idea that movie quality visuals = poor game design/gameplay then I feel sorry for you. Why is Battlefield 3 so popular? Because Dice pushed the envelope to bring something much more true to life in terms of visuals. It should be no different for a 3d fantasy rpg. Contrast BF3 to the latest COD where many people are criticizing the game for bringing nothing new. Remember Half Life 2? It raised the bar in terms of graphics and physics. Was the gameplay poor because it looked good? Your belief that visual realism equates to poor gameplay is ridiculous.
