I was wondering if it was possible to use a second wireless router to extend the range of my primary wireless router.

The primary router is the standard issue virgin media modem/router and the second is an Asus RT-N56U.

I know I can do it using a hard wire connection as I have had it running that way.

What I want to know is can I do it using the wireless connection so I can have both routers on separate floors with devices connecting to the interweb through the second router to the first and onto the web please.

    Thanks

you can only do it via wireless if they both support wds(wireless distribution system) as for as I am aware wireless n does not support wds.
