Graphics External Video Card

    Is there such a thing becuase I needed a better vid card for my laptop to play some older games like Unreal Tournament but my 8mb vid isn't cutting it and I don't want to fool around opening the laptop. I doubt there is something like that but if there is :cooldude:

    Nope. Even if you did open the laptop then it is likely the gfx card is on the motherboard. I used to work at a place that used plug in gfx cards, but I think they would only fit certain motherboards. God I am so glad I don't work there anymore.

    You can search for a laptop to buy with something like the GeForce mobility card or something, but you can't get external cards or buy one to replace your existing one. If you open the laptop you will:
    • Invalidate your warrenty
    • See that the inside is very cramped and difficult to work in

    I would if I could :D but I am broke and my current laptop is all I got for the road. Maybe next years student loans I will buy a shuttle or something

    Alienware laptops are SOOOOO expensive.
    LOL coming from the guy who's saving up to buy $1600 computer.

    there are USB -> ISA adapters out there...soo it isnt completely out of the question...but its like an ISA card will do u any good...

    Are there any USB 1.1/2.0 -> PCI cards out there ?

    I had been to that site ... didnt find a pci adapter ... thats why I asked :) ..
