Other Fallout 4 Mod - Fallout London, a mod nearly as big as Fallout 4!

I just watched this and I thought I'd share, as it looks fantastic!

Dumb question: this is unofficial right? Not done by Bethesda?

EDIT: Wow. Looks a lot more welcoming than current day London. Must have been difficult sprucing it up.

 

As far as I know! Its been in dev for something like 5 years!

Had kept my eye on that, not sure when I'd get back to Fallout now though - so many things to do first.

There is also Fallout Cascadia but I'm not sure how active they are at the moment.

 

I have just 100% the main quests and side quests in FONV. IBS had me in bed for nearly 3 weeks, so I didn't waste it totally

I've done the honest hearts DLC, so I will crack on and get all of that finished before this comes along.

Viva the purpose built Skunk lol.

It has and it is a serious pain.

I had to reinstall GOG Galaxy. Not used it since Cyberpunk came out. Did that, kinda expecting it to want me to pay for FO4 on GOG given I don't have it on there. It does work with FO4 on Steam, only it doesn't work with FO4 on Steam.

First you have to (if you don't have one, I did thank god) create a Fallout Nexus account. You then need to download the "Fallout 4 Downgrader" tool. Launch it, point it to your Steam folder and then basically log in through the app, putting in the 2fa code.

At which point it will basically download most of FO4 again, replacing all of the updated meshes and textures you had with the ones before the recent update (when the show came out) that basically broke Fallout London. Hence the delay.

So yeah, I hope you are on fast internet 'cause London is 33gb and then you have to download most of FO4 again (which tips the scales at around 90gb).

I shall report back whence I ever get it running.

Yeah, I did it all this morning and grabbed FO: London this afternoon. I'm just about to fire it up.

 

It's amazing. Like, totally amazing.

The dev videos almost looked like it was too good to be true, and they were speaking it up. They weren't.

I have never played a Fallout game that feels so different and almost alien. I did get caught out by a bit at the beginning and may have died in fire about ten times (and getting wound up) and was praying that the rest of the game does not have the same sick sense of humour (you will know when you find it) but yeah, totally blown away. It's quite the piece of work. Like, even the custom animation when you put the balisong away.

Also. The only negative I can find is that it like, ruins your Fallout 4 install. Everything is skinned with the FOLON stuff and it looks weird. However, I hadn't played FO4 in ages so I don't care really.

 

When I tried it, I got stuck in the infinite loading loop bug, so I'm reinstalling and trying again!

 

Got it to work but no audio.

Played through the first section and seems fun

 

Tips for installing:

• Uninstall
• Delete fallout 4 folder in steamapps/common
• Delete fallout 4 folder in documents/my games
• Delete fallout 4 folder in app data/local
• Reinstall fallout 4
• Run and do initial config
• Download latest downgrader app and run
• Download fallow: London and run
• Run game
• New game, might lag for a few seconds

 

I'm now getting crashes to desktop after only a few minutes into the first level! Going to be one of those kinds of mods!
