Good evening time for a slightly off forum question

I remember there is at least 1 other person on this forum who farms and I was wondering if anyone had any advice regarding round balers for hay and silage, I'm asking on farming forums too but those places get fanboys like we get regarding GPUs etc so after personal experience (2nd hand experience also good).

I'm leaning towards a 2nd hand Krone unit but not sure, our neighbour swears by John Deere but my partner hates the dealer and our old baler that keeps failing is an old John Deere unit.

Thanks in advance for any advice (unless it's based on farm simulator :blah:).

Krone is what my parents had and had no bother with it as far as I know.

Just ordered a 2nd hand Krone Fortima 1500V, fingers crossed it's a good one, also splurged on a new windrower that's 8.5 metres wide instead of our current 4.2 metre wide one.

Should halve both the rowing and baling time this year!

    Thanks for the advice

Did anyone else read that as "widower"?

You obviously haven't played enough farming sim :p I watch a few farming youtubers and one never calls it a windrower, even though the one they hire have 'windrower' printed on the machine! Very triggering :p

I'm more used to calling a windrower an Aindaineur here in France, I have to think about what all farming machinery is called in English now.
