Windows FFDshow and other codecs

    What exactly is FFDshow? Is it the same as the divx codec? Heard something like that, and that it uses less CPU etc. And what is the best codec for divxmovies with AC3? I downloaded AC3filter and it worked, but it`s a pita, it natively compresses the audio and sometimes the centerchannel doesn`t work and it also messes with with the sound of my mp3s :wallbash:

    ffdshow and the ac3filter should be all anyone ever needs.

    Oh, ok. But why is AC3filter applied to my mp3`s too? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

    dunno - never had that problem.

    what are you using to play mp3's? is there an option to disable 3rd party filters in said program? (winamp/preferances/output or effects?)
