I object to that PSU as the 750W version has reviewed negatively at jonnyguru (twice) and hardwaresecrets, and the 550W version is from the same design/platform/OEM. Assuming you are buying from scan, your best option, without increasing the price is to get this: Silver Power SP SS500W Green Power 80Plus £49.

As for which build is better, it depends on what your uses of this build will be - just gaming (non CPU intensive games) in which case the X2 would be adequate or whether you want to do other tasks that are more CPU heavy, like video encoding. And whether you have plans to use USB3 devices or add an SSD when they might start fully saturating the SATA3Gbps limit/bandwidth.

I'll swap that psu then. I will pretty much be playing games such as sims 3, civ5 and if either could handle it I would like to get starcraft II. Gaming will be the most intense thing I'll be doing, other than that it will be pretty much coursework, music, videos and web browsing.

wait... you have 2 builds going right now? Is this an update on the build you had in the "will this psu suffice" thread or is it a totally different build? If this is an evolution of the build you posted in the other thread why didn't you just continue the thread? And if this is a different build, why are you building 2 PCs at the same time o_O? (confusing lol)

Both of those builds look ok now. You're not planning to overclock though on that memory right?

Haha no just the one build, this one came before the other one. I posted this one much earlier on in the day and didn't get a reply, the other thread wasn't suppose to be about the computer itself just the PSU I might need. The build on the other thread is the most recent one, because I was trying to make it cheaper, because the insufficient funds lol. I wasn't planning on it, would it not be wise to do so then?

Since the other build is more recent, I'll keep updated on that thread and ignore this one :p.
