This will be the peak of my modding skills so far this ultimate HTPC is a future project I plan to start when i get the tools I need! But after a few designs i think ive found the one I like !!! It curently is only in design stage the following 3D renderings give you an idea of how it hopefully will look. Feel Free to critize !
i know idea from eddies project but didnt want to copy it exactly its the idea i like (read his thread he says something about developing our own ideas ) see quote below
Was not poo pooing your idea mate I think the renders look great. Any idea on what kind of wood you are using?
Looking good I like the way the plexi stands proud of the case at the bottom, should make for some interesting lighting effects underneath!
I like the idea of the vertical acrylic being both design accent and acting as "feet" too... very cool. I whole heartedly endorse this product and/or service.
thanks mate the acrylic poking out of the bottom i actually never noticed it looked like "feet" didnt notice it was extruding that far thanks for pointing that out guys because it would be a good idea for the final product now a design feature with a purpose created totally by accident
Looks very nice. The questions that popped into my mind were, space, and blow holes. If you use the plexi as feet then are they going to be solid all the way through? And if they're solid all the way through then that cuts down quite a bit of space. That will look really nice when its done.. if its not the size of the TV. Nice job rendering! I'll watch your project log ( you're going to do one right!? ) closely as I'm hopefully going to be starting my own.
may put all fans at back and one underneath no the plexi will have centre cut out Note: this project wont ber starting until i finish Project Tall Tower
that looks like it should fit in one of those really old style offices with wooden furniture with green leather (?), its the same kind of emerald green colour
if you used clear plexi you could change the colours either by ccfl or leds, You could mix the colours also depending on your mood.
I like the blue better, also wouldnt having all of the fans on the back ruin the airflow? I would put on on either side and simply cut your grill into the wood to hid them, but thats just me.
or a different colour cathod in each vertical sheet of plexi and LED's round the side of the top piece............ but i wish i had the time and the money.....
