Windows format

    hi all,

    i cant format my hd while typing format c: in dos. it said it is not available in this format. how can i format it to fa32.

    please help thanks

    is your drive set to ntfs ?

    I wouldn't try from DOS, unless as Andyunder says you've fdisk'ed from a boot floppy.

    A good way to convert to Fat32 is to use Partition Magic to do the job. I'm also sure older versions of Windows came with a little utility to do the job too.

    I come to this problem alot....

    What you should do is get a mate or get another hard drive build it on xp or 2000 as the support ntfs then plug the other hard drive as a slave then go to my computer format then to a quick format job done!!
    Thats what I all the time never let me down;)
