    Hello World

My name is Bo, I am a computer science student at the University of British Columbia, and I am addicted to build logs. Even though the intro may resemble that of an alcoholics anonymous initiation, the premises of it is entirely accurate. So without further ado, I present to you my first case mod ever, the FREAKYEYE Lian-li a70F.

The a70F chassis is a massive case of outstanding build quality but a victim of horrible design. The case is, nearest as to make no difference, 2ft tall and 2ft deep, and yet, my ATX build looks jam packed due to the lack of cable routing space and a few design features which are more destructive than innovative.

For example, the "tool-less" expansion card holders is inconsistently difficult to operate and a huge waste of space. What was wrong with just thumb screws?

From the plethora of images above you can see that the case is very wide yet that manufactures left about 1cm of space between the motherboard tray and the side panel, making it nearly impossible to hide any cables there. Oh, and for the life of I cannot figure out why there are so many holes in this case.

The design of the mod is fairly simple, with some tribal design influence, so here is the sketch-up blueprint of it.

Help me decide if I should paint this case black or grey. Thanks

One of the best features of this chassis is that it is really well built and the materials used are top notch which allows me to to take away some of the support aspects of this case without ever having to lose structural integrity.

This will be all for now here is a teaser of what's to come.

    Update: SidePanel

So the original case was painted green because i thought a giant lime green case would be fantastic. Turns out, wasn't as awesome as I imagined. So the original side panel

    HI amagriva
Ya, sorry about your eyes and no I am not Instagramming my pics its just how bright the case is at this moment in time which is why I want to paint it something mundane like black or grey. And for your second question, there is a store in Vancouver called NCIX and they have warehouse sales on computer parts twice a year so I got this case for less than a hundred bucks, which for a monsters sized aluminium tower is really, really good. But ya for future posts I might do some pics in grey scale just to even out the lime green.

Good looking stuff, nice looking logo :)

But what's up with the artsy fartsy pictures? A little style is cool, but this effect makes it hard too look at the stuff that is shown in the picture.
