    It is possible to set up a FTP Server or Server with a Dynamic Internet Connention

    Yes, just have a dynamic DNS host for it, such as NO-IP.com they are free too.

    Ok, what distro of Linux would you use?

    Debian is a great server OS... If you want to go for security, altough not linux, BSD (with their jails) are a great option too.

    Me personally, I'd go Debian
