Another question sry! Does the stock cooler come with Tim already applied? I hate having to apply the stuff myself...
IMO the B350 Strix is one of the best value per looks and spec that Asus has ever released. I should have pointed out that it's literally only a tenner or so more than the Prime, my bad ! I know a good few of my chums who are on the Strix and they all love it
Yeah the build I helped my friend put together we did around a STRIX X370-F and he loves it, and I have to admit I was a bit jealous of it.... I should have checked the price difference... Generally when I've advised friends I've steered them towards ROG/STRIX boards as apart from looking good they are usually well made and reliable too I built around a Maximus VIII Ranger that my brother recommended and I love it.
So the 1070 ti has been released and there are plenty of reviews out there. I’m not sure what to make of them. Is this card definitely worth the extra money over a 1070. Will I see a significant performance increase?
Hi again guys I have another question sry. On the scan website the specs of the ryzen 5 1600 say that it only supports 2400 MHz ram. I’ve also read in several places that Asus ocdp (I think it’s called) simply doesn’t work. Is this because the processor does not support the faster ram even if the mobo can count it in as overclocked ram?
Ryzen is quite picky about RAM, but the default RAM speed and OC RAM speeds are two different things - I think mine is running at 2933 but the RAM is capable of 3200. I just dont have the time to fiddle with it these days.
so i was looking around and noticed the advert at the top of bit-tech website. just saw this. this saves me £300 on my build so was wondering can anyone advice me on boomstick vs Aegis surely the aegis has lower quality parts and probably a crappy psu to come in at £300 cheaper? if i were to get the aegis would it last? i dont want to upgrade or fix for another 5 years or so.
The Aegis is anything from crappy, IMO. MSI make some great ready built PCs. I know, my Alienware was made by them. Warranty will be with MSI so all good there. Oh and their command centre software is fantastic.
the MSI one doesn't come with a Monitor, so the difference is gonna be less when you factor that in... Also a couple of things against the Aegis would be a lower wattage PSU, and a slightly lesser GPU. Personally I would go down the build your own route, but on balance its not a terrible deal. I just really dislike the aegis case most of all....
hi so i was checking the qvl for the b350 strix mobo and i noticed theres a list for ssd's as well. just to confirm can someone tell me if this ssd is on the list or not please? thanks in advance
haha yeah I was pretty sure I just didn't want to stick my neck out and some smart ass come along and say "they don't work"
