    Hey guys,

I've been lurking around here for quite a while and finally made the step into getting myself a WC Setup... Ive already choosen the shop ( www.aquacomputer.de ) and ive already (tried...) to assemble the set on the site, here it is:

1 x cuplex EVO Rev. 1.1 without fittings universal mounting 39.90EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    1 x Eheim 1046 (Version Germany) 32.90EUR
(Im still doubting between this one, and the Hydor L20...)
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    6 x barb 10 mm G 1/8 with O-gasket-gasket 14.94EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
1 x Water reservoir aquatube Rev. 1.1 without fittings, silver 39.90EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    6 x PVC-Tubing 8x1 mm 7.74EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    1 x airplex evo 240 without fittings 39.90EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    2 x barb 10 mm G 1/4 with O-gasket-gasket 5.80EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    1 x Elbow adapter G1/8, Set of 2 pieces incl. gaskets 9.99EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    1 x aquagraFX for 6800 Rev. 2 without fittings 72.89EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]
    2 x fan 120 mm 24.56EUR
[incl. 16% VAT + shipping costs]

Now, my question is, will it cool my system enough? (doesnt have to be extremely cool, my main goal is silence with an eye out to doing some OC'ing :D)

Im also pretty confused with the fittings and such, i think i got it setup correctly here but im not sure...

I know the tubing isnt the best, but aquacomputer doesnt seem to be selling Tygon... (or im looking over it... :D)

The hardware that this will be used for is the following:

Motherboard: ASUS A8N32 Sli Premium (S939)
    CPU: AMD Athlon64 3500+
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 6800GT (only got 1, might get another one sooner or later but im happy now as it is :)
CASE: CM Stacker (will be modded a little, would be a waste to have a nice WC setup and no way to see it right? :p )
    Anyways,

    Thanks guys!

EDIT: Forgot to mention my system specs...

Looks like a good setup. The cuplex evo isn't the best performing block however it's not bad.

I wouldn't bother with using barbs in an AC setup. Pushfits are very easy to use and are extremely strong. Compression fittings are good too and allow for a more flexible tubing.

Ive heard that before that pushfits arent bad but im afraid they might begin to leak... and besides... barbs look better :)

Thats so treu. The pushfits are very strong and dont easly leak. Most peeps that complain that the wc setup, with pushfits leaks. Is mostly du to not propper cuting of the tube. You must be sure its cut in a nice 90 degree angle. I have this setup with pushfits. Runing 4 over 2 years now and never had a drop leakt :)

I've used nothing but pushfits since my first day of Aqua computer and never a leak (that wasn't from me not pushing it in all the way...) *touch wood*. I far prefer the look as well. Infinitely easier to set up, and take apart if need be. I switched from barbs and never once even thought about looking back.

Your setup has 10mm barbs and 8mm tubing. First, 10mm (3/8") on AC gear is pointless, since it's designed to perform very well at medium to low flow rates. You can do it, but the performance gain will be nil and you'll add a ton of extra bulk and it's a huge PITA to route. I wouldn't bother with larger than 8x1 tubing (which you have) with corresponding 8x1 compression fittings. 6x1 and Plug+Cool has it's pros and cons - I prefer pushfit to compressions, but arguments have been made about 6mm being too small regardless. I disagree as any G1/8 fitting is going to have an ID of, at most, 6mm, and the smallest point in your loop is effectively what you might as well run for the whole thing. However, I'd highly recommend NOT using barbs with AC gear for numerous reasons that I can't explain right now since it's 3:30am on a school night.

I'd get a rad grill too, but that's just me. Looks nice, provides a good mounting solution and it's all meant to go together. I'd also swap the EVO for either the Pro or XT. Both will perform a decent bit better. The "core" coolers are built more for looks than great performance (unlike the nozzle coolers, like the Pro and XT), though imo the XT looks best anyways.

My 2c plus the Czech Republic 5 cent-unit piece that I found today :)

To answer the question though, it'll perform very well regardless, provided you actually get the fittings/tubing sorted (whatever you choose, you need it all the same). I've got my rig watercooled with a pair of 120mm Aqua Computer rads with fanbussed fans and even when I was running SLI, it wasn't a problem (I cool CPU, GPU, chipset, and MOSFETs). However I'd seriously recommend going with a Pro or XT in place of the Evo, unless you really have your heart set on it, as both will outperform it by a good bit.

I would stump up the extra cash to get an Eheim 1046 over the Hydor. The build quality is much better and it will no doubt last a lot longer.

Also, you will need G1/4 pushfits for the radiator.
