Finally, just toke some pictures of my Glow-Pad Final Edition. Just check the news. Also Wee... just got my new room done, plenty of room too move around. But best of all, more room to mod. My room. And don't you dare say that it's messy...
i like the wooden flooring, me wants to get something like that... oh the mod...excelent. do you have an optical mouse? if so does the light do any harm to the way it works?
I won't say it's messy cause you can still see the floor... Renting a 2 bedroom now, and the gf hates the fact that I turned our guestroom into a computer workshop... The glow pad is pretty good, you got a nice site too. It's very clean and easy to browse...
I have an optical, you can also see it in the Guides section, but since I have bl00 LED's in it, and i have a mousepad on top, it doesen't get affected... Hehe.. thx, i didn't really put much work into it, but it works.
I prefered the original bloo mouse pad. What's with the block on the side of the new one? I prefered it when you had a good all-round glow.
I think the block gives alot of style, and besides it really ain't easy getting a 4mm LED to fit in a 5mm Plexi piece... What do you mean with all-round glow... ?
I mean that the block means that most of the bluey glow is at the top of the mat. IE the focus point is only on the block. With the other one it made the whole mouse pad stand out. Just my opinion
I can see what you mean... but if I toke of the block, I wouldn't get much more light... since the LED's are touching the piece of plexi, so the block dosen't stop the main lighting...
Was thinking of doing something similar to replace my computer speakers that I just sold, but don't they interfere with your monitor?
Nope they don't, but also if they were i would just do a "Degauss" once on my monitor and it would work fine... have tried it before, and then you can't see the odd colors anymore...
what LEDs did u use on them, i know 3mm but were they high light output or anything special? i have read a few articles saying to use expensive high output ones. tom
I used those 4200mcd blue leds because they were the only ones I had at the time. You can use leds with lower brightness with great success. Maybe you can't see the light at the day time like you can with brighter leds but that doesn't matter for most of the users. If you like, you could place for example four of these lower mcd leds to even up the lighted area and give the pad a bit more glow. oh, and the link for Metku's original version. http://www.metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/glowpad/index_eng
Hey, how about using USBo supplu power to the glow pad..... Mine works that way.....can't match your workmanship though
