What is a good way to mount a hsf on my grafix card??

I dont want to use epoxy, coz i want2use the hsf again.

    My grafix card is a Jetway GeForce2 MX200 32Mb.

I want2mount my k6-2 hsf on there, and use the old passive heatsink for the ram:D. This uses up1pci slot, but it doesnt matter:lol:

The old heatsink will just about cover all4ram chips, again how could i mount them, without epoxy?

Currently i have the k6-2 hsf stuck on with about15elastic bands:) , this works well@moment - dont move at all, but i want a safer option if possible.

Dont have a digicam/scanner, so cant show u. Will post a pic of a similar hsf if i can find it.

Again, no permanent solutions, all heatsinks/fans will b used again.

    thanx

ok you could try this. On my crappy old TNT2 Pro, there were two holes located diagonally on either corner of the GPU. I took off the standard HSF, and put on a celeron 400 HSF with..............cable ties. Ok it does sound cheap and I know ppl will go UHHHH! but it came out well, I used two cable ties (to make a long one) and put the HSF diagonally, but it still covered the whole of the GPU. If you have holes on your card, consider that.

You'll have to upload them to a webserver and link them from there. Problem is that very few free hosts allow external linking.

If you want some pics hosted email me them and I'll up em to my domain.

I gaffa taped an old segate to the side of my case when I had a broke the chasis in my case :)
What you can't do with Gaffa tape isnt worth doing!

    Which reminds me of a joke;
"What does Gaffa Tape and the Force (read: Star Wars) have in common?"

"They both have a Dark Side"

    LOL, funny! No, really! :eyebrow:

ok, im just gonna give links to the pics from the place i found em, they arnt the actual heatsinks, but are VERY similar:

    Old gfx heatsink/Proposed RAMsinks -
    RAMsinks

    Old K6-2 hsf/New gfx chip hsf -
    Graphics hsf

    New K6-2 hsf -
    Processor hsf

All 3pics appear2b smaller versions of what im using:D  .

Sorry to dissapoint u, but i managed2find similar heatsinks to the ones im dealin with.

The RAMsink is about 40x40 or 45x45mm. The gpu hsf is about 50x55mm at the largest point (the top).

The RAMsink just about covers all4RAM chips.
The gpu hsf easily covers the gpu, prob about 50% extra:D.

The main problem now is mounting the RAMsinks.

i had an old voodoo5 that i modded with 2 FOP32 heatsinks on it.. used super glue, they stayed on there pretty good, came off easy too. after that i just put a zip tie through the 2 holes next to the processor and put the HS on diagnoly(sp). ziped it down. stayed good for a long time. removable too :)

I thought superglue was s'posed2b 'permanent'?? Or is that just when u stick ur fingers 2gether, like i always do??

Whoops, thats a bit wrong, the bottom of the hsf (width)is the same size as the gf2mx gpu, but with about 50-75&extra length:D.

    Hope this helps.

why would you do that with your fingers anyway? lol

if you just put 4 or so drops on each corner, put thermal paste in the middle, it makes it pretty nice, or you could just super glue the whole thing down. it takes a little prying, but it can be taken off fairly easy.

Yeah, thats good, i'll prob do this on the hsf&RAMsinks, will that work ok??

Wouldnt this give crap thermal transfer??

    cya, im off2college now.

yeah it does.. but if you push it down hard, and not use alot, then it works alright. i wouldnt reccomend doing it if your looking for overclocking/long term use, the super glue and thermal grease does good for that.
