    hi guys,

since a while im modding my (unofficial) google cardboard to accomadate my phone
this is just a 1 day job and can be fixed in less than 5 hours.

its original descriptions say: it would fit a 7" phone
but this was not true. my 5.5" phone did not fit inside and the vr-modus is offset.
it should also be able to fit the honof 6 (for the honor 6+ i do not know or it fits)

that is why im making this mod.

    materials needed:
some velcro from a 1$store (in those packs are around 16-24 velcro stickers, you only need around 6-8)
    ducktape
    packaging tape
    1x1 dual sided tape
a cardboard box of 1 level tick
a pen (color does not matter)

it might not look really pretty yet. but its a start.
this will also be the first google cardboard mod on the site :search:

    the start:

cutted the nose part and made the holes for the sticking out cardboard at the bottem
its also the remaining cardboard of the packaging of the cardboard kit
    [IMG]

how it looks like if the cardboard is on the new bottem layer
    [IMG]

cutting and marking the bending part for the phone flap
    [IMG]

the newly eddited cardboard kit for longer lifetime
added some tape for stability ducktape for sweat protection
    [IMG]

under the magnet the dualsided tape to keep it in place
    [IMG]

the new bottem layer+ edges to keep it in place
    [IMG]

how the complete mod looks like
the small flaps at the side are for extra sturdyness for heavy/large phones
    [IMG]

    things to do:
    *adding the velcro
    *painting
    *makin it more stable
    *adding the head-band
    *configurating the nfc-chips
    * fixing the magnet if it does not work

feel free to tell some ideas i can imply into this small project.
then i will look if its possible to do.

    greetings darknessblade

What the heck is this? A cartboard device to place your phone in front of your face so you can watch movies? I kinda like this :D
