    Hey guys,

    Just after some advice please.

A work colleague of mine is building a PC for his son and is enquiring about what graphics card he should get. He has a budget of £100 (and that is the top end of his budget).

He was going to buy new but I'm sure he can get better value from a second hand card, which he is happy to do.

Not sure what the best card would be for under that price, and he would be purchasing off that well known auction site.

    Any suggestions would be good.

He currently games at 1440x900 on a 17" but he plans to upgrade the monitor next year, so that would push it to 1920x1080 I would imagine.

For me it would have to be the 650ti at that point, or if you get a sale price then the 1gb 7850, has he considered a trinity build and then adding a discrete card at a later date?

He could go to 1680x1050 on a 20 or 22 inch monitor and that would be easier on the graphics card.

or for 4 more pounds with some better cooling (always worth it IMO

I would try and push him to this, the two free (and decent) games might help sway him.

If not then this may be about as good as it gets new, but its a big drop.

I would really be thinking about longevity though with such a build and £30 pounds now means maybe 2 years of extra reasonable use.

That said the following can still hack it.
