I've been looking at replacing my ageing GTX 560ti for a GTX 970, and have noticed that it uses a single DVI-I and DVI-D connection (y u do dis?!) :duh:. I have two monitors at the moment that are both connected via DVI-I, so could I get away with the using the DVI-I and a HDMI cable to power both monitors?

I don't particular want to have to buy a new cable just to use the D (fnar fnar)...

Yep, you can use any combination of ports up to 3 displays but check if your cables have the 4 pins around the large flat horizontal pin. If they don't (like this), then the two DVI ports will work fine :)

Good news, both of my cables only have the single flat pin and not the extra four that surround it.
I was thinking of going with MSI again too because the current one is an MSI, and that's been pretty good to me so far.
