<Beef>Egads man, please use proper English so people don't get headaches trying to read what you type</Beef> Latest Intel CPU would be the the C-stepping (800mhz FSB), available in 2.4, 2.8 and 3ghz (there might be a 2.6, but I don't know for sure). If you're not going to overclock, get the 2.8, if you are, get the 2.4. There's a huge price delta between 2.8 and 3, most likely not justifiable for 200mhz. Best chipset for the P4 would be the Canterwood. Sad fact of life is that all motherboards are coming with onboard sound, don't bother trying to find one without one. As far as mobo choices, according to the latest issue of CPU magazine I got, the top three performers are from Asus (P4P800), Abit (IC7) and Chaintech (9CJS). If there's one feature one one that you just have to have, grab that one. If they all look the same to you, grab the Asus. Graphics card is easy: Radeon 9800 Pro. If you don't want to upgrade for a while (and have a lot of money to blow), get the 256mb model, otherwise, 128mb will suffice for quite some time. I can't help you with anything else mostly because its personal preference, plus I don't live in the UK, so I really have no clue as to what are the best vendors there.
thx thats put me in the clear about a lot of things makes sense from what i've seen about all you've mentioned right then order today recieve next year!!
??? It is all avalible today, at a local online retailer near you, if that's what you're talking about... I agree with the hardware suggested by whypick1, would be a killer system I also agree with whypick1, no offence, but the english language has rules...
yeh i know but when u cant be arsed.... what do u do!? no it is available yes, just i want it now not in 2 weeks etc!
if u want the top end graphics card wait for the ge-force fx 5900 ultra which is due to be released anytime soon and get an iiyama moniter i have one and the picture and screen resolutions are amazing
I'd vouch for a Sony monitor out of the numerous high quality monitors that I've used, expensive, but you get the supreme customer service and quality at that price if you want an intel based platform... are you looking to overclock? the safest place to buy quality ensured goods from in this country is komplett, I've never had a problem with their customer service in the many times that I've used them. Their prices are also very competitive. With that much money to spend, I'd be looking at a decent SATA raid array for my storage, 2 x 120Gb barracuda V's should sort you there the FX5900 looks quite a good buy, but then the R9800, is going to be slightly cheaper, and with very little performance loss for price difference certainly. the Asus P4P800 has been mentioned, from my experience asus make pretty good motherboards, so I don't think you will go far wrong with that. As for RAM, you can save a bit of money here by turning down the obvious Corsair XMS3200LL for some TwinMOS PC3200 with winbond, it's about half the price, and performance difference is negligable. with onboard sound, you can always add on an independant soundcard. I'd probably stick with a creative card, I've never had a problem with them, that includes with heavy FSB overclocking.
