    Seagate 7200.8 SATA(1) and 7200.9 SATA2, both 250GB on Nforce4 Sata.
Write Cache enabled, Read Cache and NCQ disabled (these settings are the fastest for everyday use)

    7200.8:
(Average read + burst read) / Access time = Score
    (56.5 + 133.6) / 15.6 = 12.185

    7200.9
(Average read + burst read) / Access time = Score
    (56.1 + 239.3) / 13.5 = 21.881

This is my shiny new 150Gb Raptor w/ 16Mb cache. nForce 4 SATA controller, SATAI of course.

This is one of my 320Gb Seagate 7200.10s. This ones set to SATA150 as I couldn't find any tweesers to get the silly jumper out to set it to SATA300, I'll try and get the jumper out soon and do another test.

Its an Areca ARC-1220 with 5x Maxtor DM10 in RAID5 if anyone is wondering ;)

Gives a score of 61 - the access time seems on the high side, may be worth looking in to (or may be worth me looking in to :p )

run it a few times, may have been a blip during the test. If that doesn't give you anything different then try a different firmware and see how that goes

EDIT: and since I can't be letting you have all the fun...

    6x 250GB Samsung Spinpoint P120 in RAID5 on an Areca ARC-1220 giving a overall mark of 74.1

You just know you want to span that over to another 1231, or swap it out for a 1680. Go on, do it!

I'm going to miss my Areca :( (when it finally sells that it)
