Due to floods in thailand WD and Seagate have been affected with regards there global supply of HDD. At work all our pricing has gone up from the suppliers. If your looking to buy HDD id look at doind it sooner than later. The online retailers will have stock at pre constraint pricing, when that stock runs out they wont get the deals they did before and as such will have rises in pricing also.. Just thought i would let people know, im sure most will be able to wait til after the fiasco though
But...where will I put all my new porn? I need MOAR space! lol On a more serious note, I wonder how much prices are gonna rise. Couple of quid? Doulbe price maybe?
Prices already seem to have been going up a few quid over the past couple of months more price rises ahead
Well the models of business that will be most affected are the online resellers. They buy drives in bulk on supported price schemes then sell at around the normal cost and make the difference. these schemes have been cancelled whilst in constraint so thats the margin gone for a start. then the manufacturers have also put the base prices up to cover loses. the distributors will be prioritising there higher margin customers... poopey is hitting the 140mm fans
