Can anyone please explain how to get my headphone mic working when playing a LAN game?

The pair of us are both using Logitech headsets.

We've made sure the mics work (we can hear ourselves), the volume settings are high enough and the mic option is selected under Sounds in the Windows 7 control panel.

But we still can't hear each other speak.

The game in question is Borderlands, and there doesn't appear to be any obvious game setting to adjust.

I've never used a mic before, so am probably missing something really obvious.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'd run a teamspeak server as well, and use that.

Stupid question, but have you checked what key you press to talk? There might not be one set up.

Yes, it was "T" to talk, but it still doesn't work.
