Sony is a dying company, and much of what they make is sold for rates that, as Elton stated, are near extortion.

I've narrowed it down to two screens and both are under £800.

Now the first one, the Samsung, because of work I might be able to get at trade plus vat.
    Samsung LE40B651 (40Inch)

Then the less youthfull and mature in apperience (aka: boring)

    Panasonic TX-P42G10

Im going to weigh this up on Monday but this is quite a hard choice to be honest as I know darn well how good Samsung are and I will get it cheap, but that Panasonic screen looks lovely tbh, and it would be possible further down the line to order a matching DVD/Blueray player as I believe Panny sell DVD players.

    What do you guys think?

    Order ETA around Wednesday/thursday.

    Panasonic, no doubt, Plasma>LCD.

The Panasonic, hands down! There's just no comparison.

If you want to go a bit cheaper, get the Panasonic PZ85. Also people say it looks nicer than the newer G10 model, but I've only seen the former (and no doubt it look gorgeous).

I don't know why TC decided to factor in the outward appearance on the TV, I'm personally more fond of the understated Panasonic's look, but whatever floats your wagon.
