This is the lcd i have and i dont have small enough screws to mount it http://www.character-lcd-lcds.shopeio.com/inventory/images/L1662B1P.gif so could i drill some bigger holes into the mounting holes (the gold circles/squares) or would that screw somethin up?
Check the other side of the PCB to see if you'll damage anything also. Most LCDs already have M3 holes, so just check you have enough room for M4's. It looks like it should be ok though.
woah, problem ok in the top right and bottom right theres traces that lead into the mounting hole wtf? could something be connected like that? could i drill 7/64 holes in it?
Get the right size screws. Enlarging the holes will create other problems, the clearance for the heads of the upper two screws may not be sufficient to keep them from contacting/damaging the glass.
that trace around the screw position is probably ground, it doesn't matter if a screw's connected that way.
ok well i got some lil tiny screws that need a 7/64 hole, the lcd holes are about 3/32 so it shouldnt make too much of a difference with a 7/64 hole right? cuz then i can fit some lil screws in there, the heads are small enough too Or should i just do this I just place some screws outside around teh pcb to hold it up in place?
anyone? i have some small regular screws, they fit but id have to screw em into the plastic (there not machine screws)
