First off, I know someone who owns a restaurant who paid some guy to set up a camera system which uses a computer to record the video. Unfortunately the guy used cheap obsolete parts from no less than 7-8 years ago, which isn't too bad since its job is to just sit there recording video, but the power supply used was probably worth less than $1 because it exploded and fried everything it was connecting to. Leaving me with a PVR card and a case.

Instead of asking the guy again who ripped my friend off. I rebuilt the computer myself. Those AMD Semperons really pack some good value and probably 10x better than any obsolete intel Celeron.

As I said the HDD was fried and i have absolutely no idea where to start.

So I have several cameras and a couple PVR cards which I don't know the make or model of.

    Where should I start?
