My hat is off to you! The tips are good too. I remember playing one multiplayer game of vanilla Homeworld 2 and dispatching an opponent. I tried HW1 multiplayer once and that was...humbling. There's a tactic called the 'tennis ball'...it's utterly against the spirit of the game but when you encounter it...oh boy.
I'm going to jump back in and try and play HL2 for the 3rd time, but im afraid ive been skilled out of it with the changes the remaster brought to it. i just don't have the multitasking ability to play at this level. It deserves one more go though, I got homeworld deserts of kharak, and finished that not on easy, enjoyed that. I just got Warhammer 40k Mechanicus and that's kicking my ass! i just don't do well with strategy but it looks so fun....
Well after 5 years of buying HWRM i finally finished it a few days ago! Very rewarding, loved it although i was getting a bit mad at the last level till i realised i can short jump the new mothership.
Hmm... I didn't realise this was in development. Looks like it ties in with the storyline. Might have to get this. Hope it runs on my Xperia XZ Premium...
System requirement for HW3 is out: https://www.homeworlduniverse.com/homeworld-3-system-requirements/ Hopefully with DLSS at 1440p ultrawide, I can play at RT High using my 5800x and 2080 Ti. Otherwise it's no RT at Ultra setting.
As much as I look forward to it. I haven't pre-ordered and may or may not wait for first wave of discounts, depend on reviews comparing it against the originals.
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1840080/view/4042612166517679259?l=english Homeworld 3 demo available on Steam to play. February 5 at 10am PT until February 12 at 10am PT.
Let's see if the trusty Titans can run it. Though I doubt SLI is supported for anything anymore. Come to think of it, I don't think I've updated my GPU drivers for a year or two...
Grrrr. I just cannot get past 3rd mission with 3 cap points. Even going in with over 15k credit from previous missions and a full fleet (4 missile frigates, 3 assault frigates, 1 repair frigate, 25 fighters, 3 resource controller). Winning strategy for 1 and 2 missions are to have ~10 fighter guard resource controllers. Then rest of the fleet go after objectives. Missile frig take care of frigates, assault frigates and 15 fighters take care of small swamps. Carrier stay with main fleet. 3rd mission has destroyer and more frigates. I probably need to go all in on missile frigates. Ion frigate seems to be bugged. Doesn't fire and completely useless against any moving target (eg. the enemy trying to escape A to B). (am playing by myself in a private war games lobby) But enjoying the gameplay so far. I guess the trick is to not micro-manage. Just CTRL+ draw a box around enemy. Number grouping and formation are also important, just as previous game.
