I just got a new harddrive and now I want to take vista off one drive and use it on the fast harddrive, but I don't really want to reinstall. Whats the easiest safest way to do this? :D

look into norton ghost or power quest drive image (PQDI) - either will do this for you well, but neither of them are free. There's probably some open source solution out there by now, but I don't know any details about that.

There's also Acronis True Image... but the last free one I used successfully was HDClone
[edit] For reference, I went from a 17GB PATA to a 160GB SATA. :thumb:

Most of the HDD manufacturers offer free tools for this sort of thing, just visit the homepage of your HDD builder, and download it. Usually in the form of an .iso file which you use to create a bootable CD/DVD. Which manufacturer?
