Hey, can any of you guys shed some light on this problem for me?

    Rig as in sig.
I have a 64gb M4 with windows 7 on it but when i select it as a boot device on startup i just get the flashing dash and then a "insert proper boot device" message.

I remember i had this problem when i first got the ssd and can't remember how i eventually got it to boot.

It was working earlier but since reseting defaults in bios it's not.

Since earlier i have flashed bios and updated the firmware on the M4.

Anybody got any idea what's wrong?

M4 is set to IDE mode. but other modes don't seem to change a thing.

EDIT: i have now found it will boot from the M4 if i disable it under drives in the boot page of the bios.
However now i'm met with instant bsod when desktop is loaded.

EDIT2: Seems to be fixed with a reinstall of windows.
All i wanted to do today was change the thermal past on my cpu...how this happened is beyond me.

A little thing always ends up being almost a full rebuild...

Why don't ssd's just work like hdds do? I had trouble with my c300 trying to set up a cache drive. It would work, and then it wouldn't, and then it would. Sometimes i think they're just not worth it.
