HTPC How to switch on/off tv with mce remote control?

hi

would like some kind person to tell me whether I can do without my tv remote control and simply just use the mce remote; I notice it has a tv button on the top of the mce remote but how (if possible) can I tune it to switch on/off, change tv channel on TV.

I use the AV2 channel on the tv for the htpc so always have to switch on TV and then change channel to AV2 on the TV remote control before doing away with it and simply use the mce remote.
