I've had this laptop for about a year now, but recently the DVD drive has been getting worse and worse to the point where it is now unusable. Whenever I attempt to watch a DVD movie or access a lot of data from a disc the fans on the computer go mad and whatever I'm accessing lags to hell. I first thought this was a driver issue and reinstalled the drive... This didn't solve it. I've since attempted to reinstall XP using the discs provided but as soon as it gets to the main bulk of the setup the system powers down, I know this isn't an overheating problem because it happens at the same place each time. Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this? Thanks
