i am looking to replace the current stock HSF on my CPU (1.4GHz AMD Athlon) and like most every modder out there am looking for it to contain the following attributes:
    1. Quiet
    2. eXcellent cooling (i like to overclock)
    3. has the looks to show off behind a window. :D

i have been reading many reviews online, but have not come to any solid conclusions.. there are so many to pick from. so what i am asking from any of you is your personal opinions on HSFs!

what have you used? tested? what will look good, and be an effective cooler?

    peace,

Go with an alpha, or a swiftech, the good ones that you see everybody talking about if you can... I dont remember the model numbers because My MB doesent support bolt on HSF's. IF your Mother board doesent support a bolt on (ie. doesent have bolt holes around the socket), im not sure of what you should get...

my mobo is a Giga-Byte GA-7VTX which unfortunately doesn’t have holes to mount a HSF on the CPU :(
