hello bit tech forums been lurking about for a bit to long at the moment right i am looking into Hybrid physx, i currently have 2 7950's in my rig now the thing is i have a gt 610 sat here, which has half the cuda cores of a gt 9800 but its clocked a little higher is it even worth considering putting it into the rig for this or is it even worth doing the Hybrid physx with a different card all togeather?
Hybrid physics is pretty broken and not many people ever seem to get it working. General oppinion seems to be if you want physics buy nvidia.
Depending on your CPU (I wouldn't run it on a Q6600 if that's what you are still using) you can run PhysX on the CPU. I did it in Borderlands 2 with my i7 950 and it performed reasonably well.
ah yes i need to update my sig, now running on a i7-3820, crossfire 7850's, enough ram to last and got a nice little asus xonar sound card there also ill give that a go see what happens
Yeah with Xfire 7 series GPUs I didn't think you'd still be using a Q6600 . You should be good with a 3820, but it still wont be as good as a GPU.
Don't some games like Borderlands 2 do PhysX via the CPU for AMD users? Since very few games use it, I personally wouldn't add another card in your system, due to the increase in noise, heat and PSU strain it will give.
