Modding i need an idea

    to mod my p.o.s. compaq..note: i need new parts(i.e.: mother board....hard drive)..and it hasent been used in like 3 years....kinda like a summer project before uni..any advice would be helpful....

    yeah compaq are ugly. Dude try some easy stuff like new paintjob a side window. Replace the fans. If your ambitious redo the front on that thing or start putting stuff on it like lcd monitor or put a water cooling system in. Really do what you want but if you want something nice and decently cheap do a side window in a funky design and that will take you plenty long to cut and keep you occupied.

    What I do is look for inspiration for my mods, e.g(example) I did I mod on the greek mythological creature the hydra(although it turned into a diaster, but that was my first learning exprience). Maybe you should look towards historical figures, favorite shows,ETC.

    A good place to start is games you like to play. I did my first real mod on Call of Duty.

    Browse about the project logs archive; theres some stupendous stuff by several users (such as Defyant, who specializes in jazzing up old cases).
