Ugh. Sentences and punctuation would be nice... Anyway, from my knowledge it should just be a regular dvd drive. I'm probably wrong though... Have you tried opening the xbox, taking apart the drive, and cleaning of the laser head? That might help...
there are a couple of pc drives out there that can read copied xbox games. However there is only one drive that can read xbox orginals (requires some modding ). And that would be the Samsung SD616t. Pretty hard to find, but not expensive (about 30-40$).
I have a 1.0 Xbox and needed a new dvd drive. I found it on Ebay for about $40 shipped (US). It works great and are very easy to replace.
This place has a ton of Xbox part, but all I see is the modded PC drive for $145.... you may want to contact him and see what he's got. http://secure.llamma.com/catalog/index.php
tweak the pot always works! I helped my friend with the same problem. PM me if u need some help. Xbox Scene
Or Ebay, I got my bro a new drive for $23.00 USD. It was a tompson drive but it was next get so it reads cd-r's and doesnt get the disk read error.
Thomson DVD Rom's Phillips DVD Rom's Samsung DVD Rom's those are the stock xbox drives, you can as suggested also use a Samsung 616t or 616f which can be then reflashed with 605 firmware (the xbox's) and it'll read like a stock drive in the xbox. tweaking the pot is another good idea, just make sure you mark everything and measure it *before* twisting it, some kid on XS forums randomly decided to twist without a multimeter or anything, needless to say his drive didnt read anything afterwards
Would check on xbox-scene.com sometimes in the BST forum there and usually with good results. Paid $70 for my modded 616t about a year ago, never looked back.
Yeah do a search on ebay for Xbox drives. I got one and worked now problem. they are dead easy to install all you need is a set of torque screws
