Right guys my 19" CRT is finally on it's way out and I want it replace it with a 19" TFT of 2 17" TFT's.

Can anybody reccomend a good 19" for about £350 with good response time for games. This seemed promising Viewsonic VX912 but PC Pro

Quote"It's a shame it doesn't go any further though, as our technical tests revealed issues with colour balance. Full spectrum ramps looked weak in the red area of the spectrum. There was faint banding on colour graduations too, and also a steep run-off at the extreme ends of the colour range. Photos still look good, but it does mean colours can't be entirely trusted for accuracy"

But it can be had for MD

I mean you can get a really good 17" for less than £200, so do I buy two really good 17" IIYAMA Monitor ProLite E435S-B ?????

Could I run two together with games no problem...or would it cause problems??

only 1 monitor will be used for games. Both 19" and 17" usually have the same native res too - 1280x1024.

    17" for gaming tbh.

I got two 172x's. Best gaming/looking monitor imo.

TFT's have seen a huge price drop in the past 2 months or so, you can get a good 17" one for £150, LG and Samsung is often considered the best, and style is nice too.

You should note that the max resoulation for TFT is 1280x1024, and with 19" it tends to look a bit weird. Response time should be <16ms, but preferably <12ms.

Most games only allow one monitor for games, although some do support two. Imo get something like a sharp 172G-B (is that right?!) or any other quality make and you'll be fine.

depends what you mean. If you mean run both so its like one big screen for the game, then probably not (depending on graphics card and the game itself, but 99% of the time, no.).
If you mean play a game on one and have the desktop on the other at the same time, then usually that will work no probs.. for me anyway, although this will cause you to get frame stutter if there is something graphical happening on the non-game monitor.)
2x 17" all the way imo!

Looks like I might go for the 17" IIYAMA Monitor ProLite E435S-B only £184 from PCnextday. It's only 10ms too. Or the sharp 172G-B £257 for the DVI one. Is the Iiyama one any good? or can anybody reccomend anymore?

I still might get two, not sure now. :wallbash: I shall get one for now and maybe buy another one later :D

    Just returned a Iiyama CRT

The quality of the new Iiyama CRT monitors is hopeless.
Just read a magazine review that says Iiyama are now using cheaper poorer quality parts, and the monitor I returned was certainly in that catagory.
Shame, they used to make great quality stuff.

Has anybody got a Iiyama ProLite E435S? Who can comment on them?

I mean at nearly £70 cheaper than the sharp. I'll be £70 closer to getting a second one...

Think my head is spinning now :hehe:

It's actually the API and the game specifically as all gfx cards now can spread things across an extended desktop.
